Rosalind Griffiths

Ros’ musical journey started when she attended the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, studying with Elsie Thurston. After four wonderful years of training she was offered places in The Welsh National Opera Company and Glyndebourne Opera……Then the D’Oyly Carte Opera came to town!

She was given the responsibilities of Sub Principal and Principal  Soprano Understudy, giving her the totally enjoyable opportunity of playing roles such as, Rose Maybud, Elsie Maynard, Princess Ida, Aline, and Josephine.

She appeared in the film of HMS Pinafore and recorded The Mikado and played Phylla and Isabel in the recordings of Utopia Ltd and Pirates of Penzance.

During her time with the D’Oyly Carte she met and married John Broad.

She has since happily followed a wonderfully satisfying career as a professional singer, Vocal Coach and Stage and Choral Director.
